Alasdair MacLean became the first TaxAssist Accountants franchisee to launch a fourth shop front in November 2011.  Alasdair joined TaxAssist Accountants in 2005, starting from a shop front from day one.  Over the last six years Alasdair has grown his client base considerably year on year, allowing him to expand and open additional shops.  The most recent shop to open, which officially launched in Musselburgh on 23rd November, is the fourth shop to be opened by Alasdair.

With shops already operating in Leith, Dalkeith and Fairmilehead (the latter launched only last year), Alasdair has substantially increased the brand presence in the Lothians.  Opening a fourth shop posed quite a challenge but with his team of 10 staff and a carefully planned multi-site strategy in place, Alasdair was in a strong position to open an additional shop.

The launch event was a great success with over 70 guests in attendance, including a host of neighbouring businesses, clients and friends.  Colin Beattie, MSP for Midlothian North and Musselburgh, carried out the official ceremony and guests were entertained by Lewis Barlow, former president of the Edinburgh Magic Circle and magical adviser to the BBC and ITV.

TaxAssist Accountants Musselburgh also teamed up with Children's Hospice Association Scotland (CHAS) for the launch event, pledging to donate 10% of the annual fees from their first ten new clients to the charity.
