The Irish franchise awards recognise excellence in franchising and reward the outstanding achievements of businesses and individuals in the franchise industry; a sector that employs over 28,000 people across Ireland. Now in its 21st year, it is the longest running business award ceremony in Ireland.  230 guests attended this year’s black-tie gala at the Radisson St Helens in Dublin on the 23rd of April.

Accepting the award on behalf of TaxAssist Accountants Ireland was Marketing Director Alison McGinley. Alison, who is responsible for the marketing strategy, brand development and business development strategies of TaxAssist in Ireland, received the award in recognition of the initiatives she has introduced including her online marketing strategy success and the recent launch of fully mobile responsive websites. The judges also commented that TaxAssist's ‘jargon free’ approach was central to its win.

Speaking about the award win, Alison said "We had some very stiff competition from big, well known brands such as Supermacs and SNAP printing so we really are delighted with the win. We know how important it is to keep innovating with our marketing and to keep up with customer needs."

The judging panel for the 2016 Irish Franchise Awards included Newstalk Business presenter and chairman of Insomnia coffee company Bobby Kerr; Orla Nugent, director executive MBA, UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School; Greg Swift, head of enterprise at Dublin Local Enterprise Office; Michael Bradley and former CEO of the Irish Franchise Association.
