According to the 2018 bfa NatWest Franchise Survey, more and more women are finding the confidence and self-belief to get involved in franchising.
Female franchisees make up around 30% of franchisees in the UK and over the last two years, 37% of all new franchisees joining the industry have been female − a huge rise of 20% since the last survey in 2015.
Furthermore, of the 18% of those joining franchising under the age of 30, 52% are female.
Around 30% of TaxAssist Accountants franchisees are female and form a mix of individual franchisees, father/daughter, brother/sister and husband/wife partnerships.
Sarah Robertson, Group Operations Director at TaxAssist Accountants, is passionate about the opportunity and the benefits that TaxAssist offers to ambitious, female accountants and finance professionals.
"Many women join us looking for a better work/life balance, utilising key skills they have built up in their careers. This may be a desire to work closer to home or a wish to be their own boss, in order to have the freedom to run their day as they wish.
"We have had women join us with young children and also those who have had children whilst being a franchisee. Yes of course this can be a challenge at times, as this is not a part-time franchise and we do expect people to be 100% focused on the business from day one, but running a franchise also gives you the freedom to take the time you need out of the day for example, the school run or special events if needs be, as you should have a team supporting you in your business.
"We have a number of fantastic case studies below from female franchisees of all ages, who have taken the step to self-employment with TaxAssist and now run substantial practices.
"We hold regular Discovery Days in Norwich where it would be a pleasure to meet you and discuss the next steps to building your own practice. Contact Nikki on 0800 0188 297 today to request attendance."
Encouraging Women into Franchising (EWIF) and the British Franchise Association (bfa) websites both hold special events and initiatives for women looking to learn more about the benefits of franchising.
