Why now is the time to open an accountancy practice
In this video, Karl Sandall, Group Chief Executive, interviews Daren Moore, Group Commercial Director, on a number of key themes.
They discuss the accountancy services needed by small businesses in 2021 and beyond, the main areas of government support that small business owners and our network of accountants should be concentrating on, and the business opportunity that is out there in terms of running your own practice.
It is evident that clients need the services of a quality accountant more than ever before, to help them to understand what their business is doing, access finance, plan for the future and make key business decisions. The demands of clients are increasing and changing and COVID has accelerated those changes.
With TaxAssist practices being highly visible shop premises and relationship based, our accountants are ideally placed to support clients, to get to know them and their business and help through these difficult times.

TaxAssist Accountants TV Commercial
In 2019 we ran a TV advertising campaign to promote our franchise opportunity in areas where we currently have no representation. Watch the advert below.
TaxAssist franchisee Kully Sahota
“We help contractors, delivery drivers, manufacturing, retail shops, chip shops, small traders, labourers… We’re a small business and so are they. It’s a nice feeling when you know you’ve done a good job and you’ve helped them.”
Here Kully shares his experience of a typical day as a TaxAssist Accountants franchisee, the strength and depth of the business model, the relationship he has with his clients and just how effective the support has been from the TaxAssist Support Centre through the pandemic.
TaxAssist franchisee Lloyd Evans
“I think what each individual gets out of their own TaxAssist practice is very personal to them… From businesses selling food, through to footballers, if our reason for operating is to help people, the rest will follow – no matter what you define as the rest.”
Experienced TaxAssist Accountants franchisee Lloyd discusses a typical day, the range of clients he has on his books and the difference he makes to their lives and businesses with the services and guidance that he provides.
TaxAssist franchisee Bukky Shonola
“When people say ‘Actually you’ve made an impact, you’ve made a difference to my life’… that’s fulfilling. That encourages you to go back the next day and do more, push yourself, because you know what you’re doing is making a difference.”
Hear more from TaxAssist franchisee Bukky Shonola as she discusses why she chose to join the TaxAssist Accountants network, expanding her practice by opening a second shop and the support that she's received through the coronavirus pandemic which has put her business in its strongest position yet.
TaxAssist franchisee Charlie Walker
“No two days are the same. I can make a difference, and that’s the big thing for me. I can make a difference to individual taxpayers and I can also make a difference to local business. That’s why I enjoy what I do so much.”
Charlie Walker shares his thoughts on the benefits of being a part of the TaxAssist Accountants network, the exceptional support provided during the pandemic and how he enjoys helping small businesses in his local area.
TaxAssist Accountants 5 Star Franchisee Satisfaction 2020
In October 2020, 133 TaxAssist Accountants completed a Franchisee Satisfaction Survey conducted by independent research agency WorkBuzz.
