Here he met with advisers, MPs and ministers to discuss the challenges currently facing the UK's small business community. As the UK's largest network of accountants dedicated to serving the small business market, TaxAssist Accountants is uniquely positioned to provide valuable insight into the issues affecting entrepreneurs and owner-managed businesses across the country.

Drawing on feedback gathered from TaxAssist franchisees and their clients, Daren highlighted concerns including rising employment costs, increasing regulatory burdens, tax complexity, technology adoption and declining business confidence.

Influencing the conversation

The conference provided an opportunity to take these concerns directly to decision-makers, including Lord Leong CBE, the Minister for Small Business and Enterprise.

"One of our responsibilities as a leading provider of accountancy services to small businesses is ensuring that their voices are heard," said Daren Moore.

"By engaging directly with policymakers, we can help ensure the realities facing entrepreneurs and SMEs are better understood."

Supporting franchisees through market change

The discussions reinforced many of the challenges TaxAssist franchisees are seeing every day in their local communities. Business owners continue to look for trusted advisers who can help them navigate increasing complexity and make confident decisions.

This ongoing demand for professional support creates significant opportunities for accountants operating under the TaxAssist Accountants brand.

Looking ahead

The TaxAssist Group will continue to engage with government and influential bodies on behalf of its franchise network and the wider small business community.

To further strengthen its understanding of business sentiment, the Group will launch a new TaxAssist Accountants Confidence Survey and Index, drawing insight from franchisees across the UK.

For prospective franchisees, it is another example of the strength of the TaxAssist network: combining local relationships with national influence to support both franchise owners and the clients they serve.
